Can an Instagram Account Link Give You Every Reel Transcript?
No. XAPN accepts a link to one public Instagram Reel, not an account or profile URL. It turns that Reel's reachable speech audio into plain text in your browser; it does not enumerate an account's posts or archive the creator-written captions. For one Reel, copy its own link and paste that into the tool. A profile link alone cannot produce a transcript here.

On October 10, 2026 (Los Angeles time), we sent two URL shapes to XAPN's live GET /api/agent validator. A synthetic profile shape, https://www.instagram.com/exampleaccount/, returned valid_public_reel_url: false. The public example Reel shape already displayed on XAPN's homepage, https://www.instagram.com/reels/DXZz_ZDDT0h/, returned true. We used the synthetic profile only to test the path pattern; we did not read anyone's account or collect its posts.
We then sent that profile-shaped URL to the live POST /audio route. It returned HTTP 400 with Paste a public Instagram Reel link. The server's checked input rule accepts Instagram /reel/ and /reels/ paths, not a username path. That rejection happened before any attempt to download account media. The true from the separate guide validator checks URL syntax only; it does not confirm that a particular Reel is public, still exists, has audio, or will yield intelligible speech.
The inspected browser code takes one URL value, requests one audio response, and places one recognition result in a text area. Its Copy and Download .txt controls save that result. We found no account-feed traversal, list of post IDs, creator-caption request, or account-wide export step in that path. This is a boundary of the current XAPN implementation, not a claim that Instagram provides no authorized account export elsewhere.
Test boundary: this was a link-pattern rejection test, not a bulk-transcription or caption-archive test. We did not log into Instagram, inspect a business account, fetch its feed, or compare any creator-written caption with recognized speech.
Choose the material you actually need
- Spoken words from one Reel: open that public Reel, copy its individual URL, and use the transcript tool. Review the text against its audio.
- The creator's written post caption: treat that as a separate source of text. This tool does not extract it from an account page or merge it into a transcript.
- Many posts from an account: do not paste the profile and assume the tool will walk the feed. Use a workflow that explicitly supports account-level access and the permissions appropriate to that account.
Even an individual Reel can fail after its link shape passes validation. For those failures, use the stage-by-stage check. The audio-versus-native-caption guide explains why speech recognition and Instagram's caption text are different inputs.
Questions
Does “public account” mean its captions are included? No. Public visibility does not add an account-scraping or caption-extraction stage to this tool.
Can I paste several Reel links at once? No. The current input and result area handle one public Reel link per run.
An account URL does not identify which audio to retrieve. Instead, convert a Reel to text by supplying one public Reel link. Save that result before selecting another Reel from the account.
