What “Instagram to text” means here
The input is one /reel/ or /reels/ URL. XAPN retrieves its audio, converts it to one 16 kHz channel, and the browser runs Xenova/whisper-tiny.en. The output is one untimed text block: spoken audio, not the creator's caption, comments, on-screen text, or soundtrack.
A profile, regular /p/ post, private or removed Reel, local video file, and list of links are outside this workflow. There are no speaker labels, timestamps, SRT export, translation, batch queue, or saved transcript history.
Where conversion can stop
- Before retrieval: the URL is not an accepted Reel form.
- At audio access: the Reel is private, removed, restricted, or otherwise unreachable.
- At recognition: unclear English speech or strong music can produce missing or mistaken words.
- After completion: Copy or TXT preserves the visible draft; it does not verify every word.
Use the result as a draft. Replay names, numbers, product terms, quotations, and any line you plan to publish. Timed captions need a separate alignment step.
